He is one of the most influential figures in Malawi’s urban music industry, known for shaping the sound of Hip Hop, R&B, and Dancehall music since the early 2000s. He began his music journey at a young age, inspired by his family. His passion for music was developed through early exposure to piano lessons from his brother and later learning music production software in the early 2000s. This early foundation helped him build strong skills in beat-making and production. In 2004, DJ Sley officially launched his professional career and founded Chit Chat Records, a platform that became home to many upcoming Malawian artists.
